The international football icon Luís Figo’s visit to Armenia and Digitain’s headquarters in the role of the company’s Brand Ambassador on the 30^th of August was undoubtedly a remarkable occasion that resulted in quite an eventful day packed with unforgettable moments.  

The morning kicked off with the legend’s arrival at the Digitain offices and a meet-and-greet stroll around the building’s eleven floors, where Figo, alongside Digitain’s management, was welcomed by hundreds of representatives from each of the company’s departments. The hero of the day signed numerous Figo-7 T-shirts for the excited employees, most of whom happened to be his long-time fans. With selfies taken and heartfelt words said, it was time to move on to an exclusive press conference. 

Embracing representatives from renowned international iGaming media, such as SBC Gaming, Soloazar, Gaming Intelligence and EGR, the press conference saw Luís Figo and Digitain’s Founding Director, Vardges Vardanyan, answer multiple questions, address various issues and share insights related to the new Digitain-Figo partnership. 

The highlight of the afternoon was the eagerly anticipated friendly football match. Evidently set to enjoy the game under the Armenian sun, Figo, who played for the Digitain team, demonstrated his specific mastery by contributing 5 assists and scoring 3 goals, eventually ending the match with the 8:4 result. 

Filled with warm-hearted conversations and exciting discussions about the future plans, the entire day was clearly another significant milestone in the Digitain-Figo ongoing collaboration, with more surprises and plans in store.

Figo is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest players of his generation. He was a winger for several teams during his glory years, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Inter Milan. A slew of trophies, such as four La Liga titles, four Serie A titles, one UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and a UEFA Champions League title, alongside the famous 2000 Ballon d’Or, 2001 FIFA World Player of the Year, were all clear manifestations of Figo’s utterly successful and vibrant career.

Luís Figo expressed his sincere delight in relation to assuming the role of Digitain’s Brand Ambassador and this visionary alliance. Gambling Insider was in attendance in Nice as Ballon d’Or and Champions League-winning ex-footballer Luís Figo signed an agreement with sportsbook and iGaming supplier Digitain.

Under the slogan ‘cooperating with the legend,’ Figo signed as brand ambassador alongside Digitain Founder Vardges Vardanyan, as the two parties look to embark on a long-term collaboration.

Former Portugal, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Inter Milan footballer Figo praised the values of the gambling company as he held aloft a Digitain shirt with the number seven and his name written on the back.

Promoting the values of a long-term partnership, Figo sat down with Gambling Insider to discuss the deal, as well as reflecting on his playing career.

Vardanyan, meanwhile, believes the deal will elevate the whole iGaming industry, not just Digitain individually.

Figo exclusively told Gambling Insider: “For me, it was important to know a little bit about what the company is doing. It’s a global company and, because it’s a leader in this area, it was nothing but positive when the chance came to accept the partnership.”

When asked by Gambling Insider about the thinking behind the partnership, especially considering the increasing trend of brand ambassadors among B2B gambling firms, Digitain Founder Vardanyan added: “Luís Figo is a living legend. I have much respect for him not only as an ex-professional player but also as a high-profile individual and social ambassador.

“He embodies the values that Digitain aspires to. He played with skill, professionalism and has the same love for the sport we do.”
